Submissions open for Mandurian Stories anthology.
I am currently collecting stories, poems, photographs, artworks, and essays either about Mandurah, or created by people living in Mandurah, for an anthology called, 'Mandurian Stories'.
I want everyone in Mandurah, regardless of age or ability, to have an opportunity to express themselves in a way that is both personal and collaborative. I want people to feel a sense of pride and accomplishment.
The book itself would represent Mandurah as a whole through snapshots of the lives and perspectives of the individuals who live, work, and play in our beautiful town.
Below is a video of me presenting my idea to Shape Mandurah's Community Soup at Make Place. I did not get the funding, but I am still going ahead with the project. The only difference is that I probably won't be able to afford to give all contributor's a free copy of the book, or donate all the books to raise funds for community projects. But everything else is exactly as you will hear it outlined in my pitch. Scroll down to see the video.
If you would like to be involved in Mandurian Stories, please email me.
I look forward to hearing from you!
